Shut down unethical project

This project seems grossly unethical and it should be shut down. Are the department head and dean at Stanford University aware of this unethical work?

I absolutely don't buy the bogus argument about this work merely highlighting vulnerabilities. Anyone who works in modern machine learning already knows of the possibility of adversarial attacks. By demoing it, you have made it easy for the ad networks. An ethical alternative would have improving the adblocking code instead.

The fact that this work was partly funded by Google tells me all I need to know. It is an obvious conflict of interest. I guess some people never heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy. From my perspective, this work has triggered the arms race.
