Timo here, original author of MDwiki. As you have seen already, I archived MDwiki and have long moved on to other endeavours. As such, I'm not really available of helping out in development, but I appreciate you giving it some love in your fork.

There have been a couple of forks over time (that are also now abandoned), but I hope you find the time and energy to stick to this more longer-term. Would be great to see a modern MDwiki live on! That said, as soon I'm convinced this fork is ready and somewhat maintained, I'm definitely willing to add notices in my branch that point over here. Also by then I can redirect mdwiki.info to your project or even turn over the domain. If continued development goes on, I am also willing to change the license statement - Its currently AGPLv3, but I always required copyright assignment by all contributors that allow me to change the license. Also if requirements are met, the footer-restriction clause can be removed and newer released can be freed from having the attribution footer in place.

Hope this motivates to continue development, keep up the good work! I'll subscribe to this issue via email, feel free to close it and comment when needed - I think this is better than having individual contributors email me directly.

P.S: There is a unfinished "typescript" branch in my repo that I never finalized but carried some ideas. Now, 10years later the code and those ideas might not have aged well, but it might be a starting point.

The primary goal of this fork is a stable (before modern) and feature complete release version of MDwiki to handle my Markdown files. It should been built with recent dependencies without known security issues. This goal is reached already.

I couldn't find an alternate solution with the level of simplicity of MDwiki in 10 years, so I must have to do it :-) . My starting point was the 0.6.x branch since the master lacks the Markdown include feature which is a key feature for me.

Of course I've found a lot of forks too. The re-pesk/mdwiki fork might be similar but with a lot of technical modifications. It's hard to locate a problem simply caused by breaking changes in dependencies there. I've created a PR with my fixes in re-pesk#3. Applying it this fork of MDwiki works with my Markdown files too.

There's no issue with the license for me, but I would like to have tests before adding new features and before applying refactoring. I will have a look at the suggested "typescript" branch, thank you! Maybe little steps, will see... Regards Frank

Hi, i am interested in the development continuation.. noted the changes @ganskef and the include feature its key also.. recently the raito project already include two key features:

1. Support for internal anchors (usefully for indexing inside large pages) [bug][feat] support internal anchors or dont crash on references arnaudsm/raito#32
2. Support for rendering two chain pages by "include" the second [feat] provide way to use include arnaudsm/raito#16

Of course raito neither mdwiki support WYSWYG editor .. but both featured authentication.. so cannot be used as fearure wiki, only as site generator..

if we added authenticaion in shor time or a delegated autentiacion.. not based on external software (by example leaving to the websrver) we can talk about a complete featured wiki software..

I mean, once those features are madure (no matter stupidity of fashion software dependency) people will come and use it, contributions will raise!
