Summary

vconsole services fail to start thus causing a delay in boot for my laptop and my vm for packaging, i have uncovered this is due to the fact the nz keymap does not exist so after changing my vconsole.conf file from nz to us > this fixed the error and improved my boot times.

it could be worthwhile fixing this as it would improve boot times for those choosing a uncommon keymap such as NZ or NZ Maori/other smaller options.

Steps to reproduce

  1. install solus using the nz keyboard option
  2. restart your pc or vm

Expected result

Computer boots normally.

Actual result

after bios + splash, you get 2 failed warnings.

[FAILED] Failed to start systemd-vconsole-s.up.service - Virtual Console
[FAILED] Failed to start systemd-vconsole-s.up.service - Virtual Console
