Summary

After install from Snapshot-2026-02-07 ISO network-manager package is missing in Plasma, Budgie and Xfce. It is present and working in live enviroment during install.

Gnome is unaffected.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Boot from Snapshot-2026-02-07 ISO in uefi mode
In my case locale EN_GB, Location Stockholm and Keyboard Swedish but all else are default settings in setup
  2. Verify that network is available, f.ex by opening plasma-nm applet, Firefox or nmcli in terminal
  3. Start install and reboot after install is completed
  4. Open plasma-nm applet, Firefox or nmcli in terminal verify no connection available

Expected result

NetworkManager installed, running and able to access internet

Other comments

eopkg.log from /var/log below
I can't look in journalctl or install network-manager either due to sudo permission missing which has been reported as separate issue.

Image

  • Host is Solus/Plasma fully up-to date as of todays date and ISO installed with qemu/virt-manager
  • Let me know if there is anything else i can provide to help diagnose this
  • Hopefully i'm missing something obvious with this but i cant figure out a root cause here.
