Adding filled lines as option in scatter plot or new plot type

I need filled lines (see [https://plotly.com/python/line-charts/#filled-lines]) for my analysis. Would it be better to expand the scatter plot parameters like

or make a complete new plot type "filled lines"?

Describe alternatives you've considered
Using something different as dataplotly, but is this an alternative?

Thank you for your answer! After some smaller tests I started now implementing a new plottype "filled lines". For me it makes more sense to have that option for its own rather than to add filled lines to an already existing scatterplot.

Doing that I was getting confused if it is better to use existing widgets from the gui or make new unique widgets for the new plottype. For example: is it better to use the existing y_combo as the new upper_y_field and change the label or should I prefer making a new widget "upper_y_combo" (with the consequence to implement all the stuff needed to control the new widget properly!) ?
Changing the labels (and other values) of the widgets depending on the plottype is somewhat confusing for me in the code, because the if-statements are nested, they are not all at the same place and not all changed values are set back to default, resulting in different values of the same label after switching from one plottype to another.
What would be the best strategy to get hold of these issues?

Any help and suggestions are very much appreciated.
