All requests take too long

Hi,

I’m experiencing extremely long response times when using the Google Analytics MCP server through the Google CLI. Basic operations take several minutes and appear to block on some kind of confirmation step, but no actionable prompt is shown. This makes the MCP server very difficult to use.

Observed behavior
Listing available GA account/property IDs
Takes ~3 minutes to complete.

Querying revenue for the past year for a specific account
Takes ~4 minutes to return a response.

During debugging/logging, the process repeatedly reports that it is “waiting for confirmation”, but:

• No confirmation prompt is displayed
• No action is required or possible from my side (as far as I can tell)
• the CLI appears idle during this time

Expected behavior

• Listing accounts should complete within seconds, not minutes
• Analytics queries for a single account/year should return reasonably fast

Environment

Google Analytics MCP server
Accessed via Google CLI
Authenticated and authorized (requests do eventually succeed)
Issue is consistently reproducible

Are there recommended flags, debug modes, or non-interactive auth flows to avoid this?

It is literally only 4 accounts..

Thank you for your response. The thing is that my credential file is already not inside the AppData/Roaming/ folder. I have it actually stored in my user directory on C:/Users/

Hi @marekf93 ,

Perhaps a bit of a long shot, but could you try setting PYTHONASYNCIODEBUG=1 in the config's env section?

      "env": {
        "PYTHONASYNCIODEBUG": "1",
        "GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS": ...
      }

Then run the Gemini CLI with gemini --debug. You may have to press F12 to get Gemini to show you the debug output.
