Feature request: date picker

Hi, I know that probably this isn't the right place for requests but I think polymer (specifically the paper collection) need an official date/time picker.

At a recent gdg Polymer hackathon (and a couple of evenings since then) we build a real material design date picker ('docs'). It still needs some more polish (see TODO), however, we were wondering, would there be any interest in including this in Polymer officially? And if so, who should we address, as unlike with other projects, doing a simple pull request isn't possible for an entire repo and doesn't seem correct either way.

@fballiano it's not on Github either way yet and I wouldn't advice you to use it till after we get everything done (except maybe for the localization point) and tested, but this simply seemed the best place to write (after doing a quick google search).

@marcoms Not there in the 'official' Android implementation either. There should have been one on the year list, and we originally had that one implemented, but I took it out due to the fact you could hardly see it anyway and in most cases it just caused odd flickering and poor performance.

I would love to see a date-picker also considering it's in what's new on the Google Design's Material Design website.

For anybody interested, it has for now been released over here.

Still trying to set up github pages, but having some trouble with them as I need to have two git repositories in eachother for it (push the top one to the gh-pages branch and the inner one to the master branch), but regardless of my success in that regard, the demo page can still/once again be found over here for the coming few days.

Oh and, above you can find the promised internationalization support. It's not 100% there yet (see TODO), but it gets the job done really well.

The folks working on the material-ui project have an excellent data-picker component for react.js:

Probably has a lot of useful inspiration, especially the slick animations they achieve.

I'm a little bit taken by this issue; a date component is necessary for most applications. @David-Mulder has an okay start. The others I've checked out on github aren't ready.

Something that works for evergreen and mobile devices would be highly appreciated.

I use this component with 0.5 and all work well!

Only, when I use open() method I need to call manually refreshScrollPosition if value is set.

How can I bind the input field after press OK button with the selected date?
Please create a Simple code jsfiddle or similar.

I've created paper-date-picker (docs / demo) and paper-time-picker (docs / demo) components with the goal to mirror the android versions as closely as possible, while still having decent performance on mobile devices. I opted against infinite scroll for the date picker, as I couldn't seem to find a way to make it work without sacrificing performance.

Please test on your own devices and let me know what you think (pull requests welcomed)!
