chrome started refreshing spontaniously

Hi,

I had the situation in which chrome wasn't starting up and filling the Pi's storage in the /home/pi/.config/chromium/DeferredBrowserMetrics/ folder.
I resolved this by deleting /home/pi/.config/chromium/* but now Chromium seems to refresh every couple of minutes.
in "top" I see some additional chromium tasks being loaded and unloaded again.

what could be causing this?

so I discovered the problem was most likely a dying SD card. replaced it and testing now.
