s3:// style URLs?

Would it be possible to support URLs of the format s3://<bucket>/<prefix>? These are used in the AWS CLI and would be a nice way to differentiate S3 from HTTP.

The yum plugins are Python, translating an s3: URL to an HTTPS URL should be workable. There is a decent write-up of the transformation at https://www.h3xed.com/web-development/using-https-with-amazon-s3-and-your-domain . The missing part of the information is the relevant region, which could also be published in the yum configuration information along with the optional keys.
