• I have tried reproducing this issue in Chrome and it could not be reproduced there
• I have tried reproducing this issue in ungoogled-chromium and it could not be reproduced there
• I have tried reproducing this issue in Helium with a new and empty profile using --user-data-dir command line argument and it could not be reproduced there

Drag-and-drop of tabs between browser window instances does not work in Vertical Tabs mode

How to Reproduce?

1. enable vertical tabs in Linux
2. drag tab
3. bug reproduced

Actual behavior

Expected behavior

It should work like how regular tabs work (they snap to the browser window you're hovering over)

Not sure if this is just a Hyprland issue, but what leads me to believe that it isn't is that this feature works properly on regular tab mode.

No, I tried it in regular Chrome which doesn't have vertical tabs, so I just marked the box. I didn't know that Chrome Canary had the vertical tabs, I'll check again when I have time. Thanks.

@dumbmoron hi, sorry about that. I just confirmed that it is an upstream bug. many apologies, next time I'll be sure to double check in the Canary version as well. I actually thought that the vertical tabs implementation was 100% on the Helium side.

That's okay, we can still track it here, it should just have a "upstream" tag so we know to fix it in Chromium and then backport the fix.

Another option is that you could try to implement a fix for Helium first (which should hopefully be simpler) and then try to get it upstreamed from there.
