Description

A site filter feature where you can add sites like "msftconnecttest.com" or "neverssl.com" to a HSTS/HTTPS whitelist for captive login portals.

Who's implementing?

  • I'm willing to implement this feature myself

The problem

Is it possible to implement a feature, ideally a site filter, or a button where you can choose to temporarily disable strict HTTPS enforcement so captive login portals for wifi networks can open and trigger on Helium? It kinda annoys me that every time I have to connect to my office wifi, I have to open up Google Chrome to then open neverssl.com which then triggers the captive login portal.

Possible solutions

A button on the site settings panel to temporarily disable HSTS enforcement or a site filter whitelist that can allow HTTP connections for certain whitelisted sites.

Additional context

It's an annoyance of mine but I feel like this could help with overall compatibility and usability for people who are less technically inclined to understand why their wifi login page is not opening.
