Is there a consensus for a vocabulary tagging obs_mode and analysis_mode across the various high energy projects?

I had in mind this information is well described in the science papers describing the data collections and the data products release.

it seems more precise to point to a bibliographic reference describing the analysis method , or observation process .
For analysis , the published codes could be referenced with the development of identifiers for codes , like the ASCL references , or OSSR projects.

General consistency across all HEA energy ranges, messengers, and projects is unlikely, which is why the proposal includes statements like "We note that permissible xxx_mode values will vary from facility to facility and from instrument to instrument."

HEA data span many more decades of energy than UVOIR, or even radio data, and detector technology/detection methods and data analysis techniques vary tremendously with energy and messenger (e.g., neutrino vs. photon vs. gravity wave). For example, neutrino scintillation detectors work differently from Cherenkov airburst cosmic ray detectors and these work differently from soft X-ray photon detectors. Even in the same energy range, different types of detectors operate differently and their function, capabilities, and observing methods vary significantly (although this is also true for the longer wavelengths too).

That said, it's conceivable that there may be (a subset of) xxx_modes that are sufficiently consistent across HEA that a common vocabulary could be developed for those modes. However, we should still allow individual data providers to specify arbitrary values for xxx_mode that may vary from facility to facility and from instrument to instrument, to capture other possible modes that may impact data discovery.
