"Run Thread" results in no output/error

Describe the bug

"Run Thread" results in Error. Tried making different threads; same result. I believe it’s due to me not being able to pick where the file is output.

To Reproduce

Press “Run Thread” and wait for error

Expected behavior

I expected output from SoundThread/a piece of processed audio.

Additional context

I did the install according to the pdf/txt & the accompanying YouTube video; replaced the “Filter” file, entered the command included in the documentation into “Terminal”, etc. My “Home” folder is called “temp” so I thought that might be the problem so I dragged the folder into terminal and then re-entered the documented command but still no dice.

Hi yeah it looks like you need to change the output folder from the system root as CDP doesn't have permission to write there. If you uncheck reuse last output folder on the output node it will prompt you for a new output folder when you click run

Nearly identical error; tried putting it to "Documents", "Desktop" (that's the report below), inside the "cdpr8" folder, etc.

Is this related to the Terminal folder command that the instructions had me input?

Update: I saw the "exceeds sample size buffer", put in a clipped sample and it works.

Been getting output files. It's a lot of fun.

I notice error flags being thrown but the majority of those don't result in no output file; I assume some of those end up "too long" due to parameters on the node. I had the "buffer" issue before so I don't know if there's anything I can do to optimize.

I was able to reproduce the issue while testing on mac.
Here is what I think the problem is:
The output folder defaults to / (fs root). On systems like Linux& macOS, the root directory passes DirAccess.open() validation since it's a good read inode, but it's mounted with restriced perms. The write access is reserved for UID 0 (root). CDP fails correctly with EACCES when attemp to create the output file.
When The path concat dir + "/" + filename produces "/" + "/" + "outfile.wav" when dir is root. While POSIX path resolution normalizes // to /, the CDP file handler rejects this as not a valid writing target since /outfile.wav would need root privileges.

I would propose this:

• Check FileAccess.WRITE on the target directory before any execution, not just DirAccess.open() which simply and tests O_RDONLY
