Add an option to split payments to npubs profiles from Nostr

Hi,

I always wanted an option to split payments to npubs users of Nostr. Maybe is possible to choose npubs and automatically extract the lightning addresses from the npubs I choose and send the payments to them.

Is it possible? Thanks.

why don't you put the lightning address directly inside the splits? why the overhead on extracting it from npubs?
i do not really see the benefit of using npubs.

Hi, the reasons are:

1- People can change lightning addresses but a nostr profile, people usually do not change.
2- I would like to see interoperable of this with Nostr clients, so I can go to a nostr client and add a npub to a donation list and maybe import or syncronize the list with lnbits splitplayments plugin.

I am working on a prototype for this using the existing libraries used by lnbits. I will have to think a little more about interoperating it other Nostr clients. For my first iteration I'll let you insert the npub and split payments will automatically derive the lightning address using websockets.
