[FEATURE] git as a backend

This might be an unrealistic task but I feel this tool would benefit with git as a backend.

Git's whole job is to diff text, and it may be more efficient than the current DB for this use case. I would also love to sync it to a GitHub or GitLab repo to see the blame and how the site changed over time, add it to GitHub actions to generate statistics, and share the repo with friends so they could see the changes too.

Can you elaborate more? How do you see the file structure? How would you trigger git?

Completely forgot about this, sorry!

What I meant by this is that the git format is already extensively designed for to store the differences of text files like JS and HTML. Each site would be a repo, almost like a reverse GitHub pages. Imagine being able to export the past year of site and seeing how often something changed, being able to search for old changes, and comparing changes over a longer timespan like you already can with GitHub's diff tools.
