Need help with github-deploy

Hi,
I wish to have my hosting server overwrite/add files from my GitHub repo.
I'm having trouble understanding the instructions for connecting a web hook to an endpoint script on the external server. I do not know how to configure the script or where to place the script on the external server. Some clear step by step instructions would be very much appreciated.
