Thoughts about incoming 26.4 charge limit?

Was just wondering what your thoughts are and whether this will render (or not) Battery Toolkit obsolete?

Yes, I knew this was coming from RE. For me personally, this will render BT mostly useless, yes. While BT is more flexible with the configuration and extras like turning the power adapter off, Apple’s charging stack is quite sophisticated and I would have preferred to tap into it with BT rather than controlling things manually (however, this is not possible). I will likely switch to Apple’s solution.

I asked because i was thinking of the charging mini bursts and whether we can (?) trust Apple on that one or not.
Will admit i've no idea how/if they handle those.

This might be the one thing Toolkit could remain useful for; and if so, to be in the future used in conjunction with Apple's charge cap (both active, same upper limit on both, albeit trusting toolkit for bursts with a user defined lower limit). Assuming they can co-exist that is :)

You mean the hysteresis? Apple does that with the same (default) 5 % difference as BT. Apple’s stack is really good and they have multiple heuristics when to charge to 100 % to aid calibration and mitigate a memory effect (yes, this still exists, just the damage done by 24/7 100 % are much worse). They also discharge back down to 80 % when needed. This and BT cannot co-exist.
