Media configuration mismatches causes blank labels on ZPL printers

Installed driver for Zebra ZD621. Prints beautifully (and on my printer cutter works).

Issues are twofold:

1. After printing a label, a blank label follows.
2. Printer cuts the blank label about 95% down the label—I have to fully recalibrate before next job.

More than likely the LPrint and printer label configuration are out of sync - check that the media settings on the web interface match the labels you have loaded in the printer.

Thanks, Michael. In the Media Setup Window, I have a length of 812: Under Printer Configuration, I have 1231 length (this is the scanned length of the label by the Zebra printer—I measured manually, the label is slightly longer than 6.0”): No issues with the standard CUPS driver printing a single label and cutting in the middle of the gap. I tried changing the Maximum Length in the Media Setup Window to 1231. No change. Please advise. Thanks. LC

Hi Michael, Found a fix. Here are the steps: Use a browser to go the IP address for the Zebra Technologies dashboard. Click on Directory Listing. Scroll to bottom and click on “Create New Script”. A Create New Script window opens. Click on Edit. Paste: ! U1 setvar "device.command_override.active" "yes" ! U1 setvar "device.command_override.add" "~TA" ! @MediaStudies This basically says that the media configuration in LPrint (not in CUPS, but in LPrint's web interface) does not match what you have on the printer... I am investigating how reliable the "~HS" status strings are from the printers in my lab to see if I can set more than the currently configured/detected label length.
