PAC-CLI v1.51.1 Release: Smoother Workflows and More

New version of the PAC‑CLI: 1.51.1

Update your PAC‑CLI version by following Microsoft Power Platform CLI - Power Platform.

Some of these new features are already documented in the code apps docs. For items that aren’t documented yet, expect updates soon.

Dataverse

• Lookup support in add-data-source – When you add a Dataverse data source, the CLI now auto‑generates typed models for lookup columns to improve type safety and reduce runtime errors.

• Bug fix: connection references – Resolved issues that could occur when adding connection references via the CLI, improving reliability during ALM and environment moves.

Developer Experience

• App saved to your preferred solution – New apps now save to your chosen solution by default, aligning with ALM best practices. Learn more about the preferred solution here: Set the preferred solution

• Logging for add-data-source – Improved console logging helps you troubleshoot common failures when adding data sources.

• Request ID in console output – The CLI now surfaces a Request ID for relevant operations, making it simpler to trace and debug server‑side operations.

• Bug fix: “Error: Invalid URI format” – The region:prod property is now consistently included in power.config.json when initializing new apps, preventing environment‑specific URI issues.

New Docs & Examples

• SharePoint CRUD examples – Sample code showing create/read/update/delete patterns with SharePoint lists and common column types.

• Troubleshooting guides for adding a data source – Step‑by‑step guidance when add-data-source runs into configuration or connectivity issues.

  • Create an app from scratch in 4 steps (a quick start tutorial for new code apps users using a Vite + React template).
  • Get metadata for Dataverse tables – A how‑to for retrieving table metadata using the generated services.
