Closed Issues still in list

I have two issues from my github project which are closed in Github but still show up in my "Github Issues" list in VSCode.
One was closed manually, one was closed by merging a pull request.

I also see all issues even those who are completed.
(I also cannot manually 'stop working' on an issue to work on another temporarily, the buttons do nothing)
On the interface side of things, this extension feels 'dead'. no visual cues of nothing (connection states, hover info, etc. if a button does nothing it should be either disabled appearance or popup a message stating why) Maybe its still in early beta.
