Unable to install

Hi,

I'm trying to install bitf but it fails because it can't execute husky as a postinstall script:

bitf/package.json

Line 40 in 1badf3f

"postinstall": "husky",

Since husky is installed as a devDependencies I assume package installation will fail everywhere (?)

Better to remove the postinstall?

Hello @thenoseman! Apologies for the late response.

The postinstall scripts are quite often blocked by the package manager for security concerns. The errors or warnings related to that can be ignored as it would not impact the library's functionality - this particular postinstall script is part of the typescript-library-template (https://github.com/neg4n/typescript-library-template), a boilerplate I use for creating and publishing my personal libraries. husky allows for effortless management of git hooks and e.g. executing biome linting before comitting the code during development of the library. It has no impact on the production bundle.

Can you please share more details about your environment? The package manager you are using, the Node.js/Bun version and general context of the origin of the issue?

EDIT: I see the issue now (consuming package from the registry still executes postinstall but the husky is not being found as it is in the devDependencies) - yes, removing postinstall from this package and from the typescript-library-template would be a great idea. I'll probably switch to some prepare script. Thanks for the suggestion and sorry for the inconvenience
