Project and maintainer status #104

Hello, I would raise a discussion out of good etiquette, however that's not possible. So... I'm wondering what the project status/maintainership status of this project is, @nemequ perhaps?
(no, this is not another 'is this project maintained, because I have a critical bug I need urgent support for....)
I see the last commit was 4 years ago, a few open issues, but a heap of prior commits over the development span. Did the project reach version 1.0 stability, achieve it's goals, and have no compelling reason to continue? Or did work cease for other reasons?
