Hi,
i know you dont have this focus (at the moment), but i want to draw your attention to home-automation.
Pixelcontroller would be a really, really, great component in Homeautomation.
Every LED-Matrix would be great (if small or bigger) as a Display in Homeautomation.
There will arise a lot of great ideas for pixelcontroller in homeautomation . ... if it would be easier to control the pixelmatrix with simple commands/controls. and state-references
So i want to draw your attention to openhab (https://github.com/openhab/openhab/wiki)
which i just recently discovert. It is written in java and has great bindings (=interfaces) to great range of protocols and components.
It is realy worth looking at it, as the new html gui version 2 is coming up. it looks great, compared to all the other opensource projects (i checked a lot of them..). The guys behind have reputation, there a lot of options in this, it runs stable, (and has also professional options: drools rule engine in java...).
i realy Hope to get you interested and think over of getting pixelcontroller a binding/api/interface to the home-automation world. I would like to help you promoting this (on knx-user-forum in germany), if you would go this step...
please think over it.... if you havent already ?
;-)
