getting cs-script is busy

I am using latest version of VS code and cs-script extension on my Windows PC. I tried reinstalling the cs-script extension but no luck.

Most likely it is because your system either does not have .NET installed or it is of the wrong version.
I am currently working on automatic checking of the dependencies. But since it's not ready yet, let's check it manually.

Execute Ctrl-P > "CS-Script: Engine Settings. It will open the script engine config file

Open the folder that contains the config file:

Now you can test if the script engine can run on your system. This is how output looks when everything is OK.

Let me know what output you observe

Looks like some wrong version installed. How can i fix this ?

I could see below files in the installation path

Since you do not have CS-Script standalone version installed you need to modify the assembly manifest manually.
Have a look at this post: oleg-shilo/cs-script#392
Uwe fixed his cs-script configuration today after he broke it by installing .NET 9 SDK while his cs-script was targeting .NET 8 SDK.

You simply need to update the cscs.runtimeconfig.json with the version of .NET SDK present in your environment.
You do not have to do that if your .NET SDK and the application (e.g. cscs.exe) are of the same .NET version, which is not your case.
