Thumbs cannot move across each other for tickInterval != 1

**Issue**
When tick interval != 1, thumbs cannot move across each other.

**Steps to reproduce**
- Start sample
- Set minimum distance to -1
- Update tick interval to != 1
- Move thumbs to each other

**Expected behavior**
Thumbs can be moved freely.

**Actual behavior**
Thumbs can not be moved across each other.
