Notification not marked as unread when reading the data item first

Steps to reproduce

1. Log in as one of the test users
2. Take note of the badge on the notifications
3. Navigate to the chart and select an appointment that is unread (in the future)
4. Navigate to the home screen

Actual result

The badge was not decreased by 1.

Expected result

The badge should be decreased by 1.

Details

While the notification is marked as read, this change does not seem to have been made in the backend. That is probably why the badge was unaffected. However, when you go to the notifications first and click on one of them, it works as expected.
