Material UI Consistency

Our Material UI styles our inconsistent across the components. We need to agree upon a consistent styling protocol for the MaterialUI components in the app and ensure that any components that don't adhere to that are updated accordingly. We should be using the styling techniques specififed in the MaterialUI docs, but I am open to using a CSS-in-JS alternative if it means more ease of use

As a stretch, I also propose adding ESLint ruling or precommit hooks to ensure that proper styling protocols are enforced
