transponder/input timing simulator

We are looking to create a visual identification system and timer and want to feed vehicle data into Easy Race Lap Timer. My first question, is there a simulator process which feeds fake vehicle timing into the system instead of requiring GPIO triggers?

Having not dug into the code yet, I was wondering if someone could point me to the section/file of the code where this might be injected into the system if it's not already there.
