Betaflight transponder code implementation #88

Hi guys,
are there any plans to implement the ir code into betaflight? I recently built a ERLT base station and the setup with my omnibus f3 fc (which has all the required hardware except the ir led on board) would make tracking really simple and the setup really clean. I prefer the ir-based systems to the vtx-based systems for easy of use, cost and configuration reasons. I'd like to assign an ir-code to every person that wants to track their times and not have to configure vtx channels that change quite often.
I would be very grateful if somebody could take a shot at this. @polyvision you proposed to take a look at this, if theres a timer left in betaflight some time ago. Could you take a look at this, if you're not too busy? I'd be glad to help testing it, if I can. Sorry if that's much to ask for.
