Close current tab with single keyboard key

Since this userscript makes use of a particular GM permission employed by the Userscripts app, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it here.

I can close the current Safari tab with the classic Cmd-W keyboard shortcut. But I really like opening lots of tabs and often want to close them rapidly with a single keyboard key.

I personally chose the backtick/tilde key (the key above “tab" and below “escape”) to do this.

This will close the current tab if a modifier key is not also being used and if the cursor is not currently in a text box. Modify it to whatever key you prefer to close the tab with. Hope others can get as much use out of it as me. Thanks greatly to devs for making GM.closeTab functional.
