It says it has a 80% chance to yield it when hitting a copper ingot on a cutting board with a hammer, but several times in a row I didn't get any? And for some reason the issue comes and goes so I have no idea what could be causing it.

that's just how probability goes, really. i suppose you could argue for spoofing the odds a little (e.g. preventing long sequences of failiures) but there's nothing wrong with the code, just the human brain's ability to understand chance.
