Could you explain more your issue please.

You can try xml tools but if yiu need advanced features like xml completion based on xsd , dtd rang schema you will not have those kind of features and more like advanced formattong, rename.etc

Ctrl+Click activates "Go To Definition". This is set by VS Code itself. vscode-xml provides an implementation of "Go To Definition" for XML files, whereas XML Tools doesn't, which is why the workaround works. I don't think VS Code provides a way to rebind "Ctrl+Click" to not mean "Go to Definition". VS Code doesn't seem to allow rebinding anything involving clicking. There also isn't a VS Code - wide setting to disable "Go To Definition".

We could introduce a setting that disables the "Go to Definition" results that jumps between tags. Maybe that's worthwhile? I'm not sure it is, you can avoid jumping between tags by not doing Ctrl+Click in the first place. Even if we implement this, Ctrl+Click will still do "Go to Definition" in other languages.

@mcandre is it your usecase (Ctrl+Click on a tag element). if it as @datho7561 said we could provide a settings to disable this feature.
