Could not launch StackUnderflow.sln in VS 2008

Hi, I double clicked StackUnderflow.sln and nothing happened. Is this coded in VS .Net 2008?

Yeah, it was coded in 2008 - but shouldn't VS 2010 just migrate the project for you?

Hmm, I thought about reproducing this issue right now ... but I currently have only VS2008 installed on my machine. At the time, if I remember correctly, I tried converting to VS2010 when it came out and encountered some issues:

@wongwf82 - what would you want, out of these options:

1. Install VS 2008 and see if this project even is worth investing more time in, for you?
2. Try to convert it to VS 2010 yourself
3. I might be able to spend some time and try converting it to VS 2010 myself, though I think it would take me about a week to install VS 2010 and get the time to work on it.

I'm actually using VS .Net 2008 to open it. It doesn't seem to launch the project when I double clicked on StackUnderflow.sln.

Did you manage to open it? (Test the zip file that you uploaded)

Oh, actually the problem might be reverse :)

I just tried to open the sln with VS 2008, and it said the sln was created by a newer program ... I guess that I did migrate the project to VS 2010 after all.

Do yo have access to VS 2010 ?

BTW, I don't remember a zip file, but I recommend you download the latest build from Github - I'm not sure at what time I made a zip... the github source is always the latest.

Oh.. I click on Downloads on Github and it offers 2 option.. TAR.GZ or ZIP. So I reckon it zips it for you so other can download it. No worries.

Well, you could try to edit the version number in the SLN file, but I think that it would be counter productive. Is getting a VS 2010 a problem? You can also try a separate VS2008 solution, and maintain both - I don't think that I have any actual dependency on anything post C# 3.0, except maybe ASP.Net MVC itself - and this can be included as a 3rd party.

So - if you can't get VS 2010 - the right move I think is to create another VS 2008 flie that will co-exist with the VS 2010 one. Can you try it out?
