Talk page not found

Hello,
I wanted to test the framework by writing an article_ids_titles.csv with the following line:
8841787 IPhone
(there is a newline at the end.)
But the script only gives me this error:

1 lines read from file ../article_ids_titles.csv

Processing article: 8841787 IPhone
Talk page not found: Talk:IPhone

End. Not found: 1 articles:
IPhone

I'm puzzled because the talkpage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:IPhone obviously exists. I also manually queried the wikipedia API by opening

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&prop=revisions&rvprop=content&format=xml&titles=Talk:IPhone

in a browser to check if the id is correct. What's the problem? In general, it would be helpful to have an example article_ids_titles.csv . Thanks!

Hi,

I have the same problem. When I try to run the tsv file given below (named articleList.tsv), the (existing) talk pages are also not found.

10 Computer_accessibility
1000 Hercule_Poirot
6000 History_of_the_Comoros

I have tried it for several articles, but couldn't find any for which the program worked. :(

Hi,

I ran into the same issue and there seems to be a simple reason (as well as solution) for this error. It appears that the Wikipedia API added another attribute "_idx" in the data it returns. This breaks the regular expression on line 34:

xml_metadata_re = re.compile('<page pageid="(.+?)" ns="1" title="(.+?)">', re.DOTALL)

replacing it by this line works for me:

xml_metadata_re = re.compile('<page .+? pageid="(.+?)" ns="1" title="(.+?)">', re.DOTALL)

If i get around doing it, I create a pull request for this fix.
