Is there a way to tell which "play" method is being used?

I am on MacOS. Take the output of following examples:

trans silhouette -p

say silhouette

trans play give much better pronunciation.

Is there a way to tell what method is being used other than digging into the code?

Text-to-speech voice is provided by Google Translate's API, that's why it's better than MacOS's say command.

In trans -V you can find the actual audio player that is being used to play that sound.
