Missing ability to add people to product

As an admin moving my org from JIRA over to sprintly, I'd like to automate the creation of products. 

While the API people.json POST allows for inviting people to a product, it does not seem to allow for the functionality available in the web app of adding them directly.

This makes it difficult to automate imports from other systems.
