Here are Omar's explanations of how the system is working. This isn't a ticket so much as a place to store information.

Structural Model

A cell is empty if the tag it represents does not contain more tags inside it.

Each level is set as each node type appears on the file in a breadth first fashion. As you can see each nodetype belongs at a certain level.

The height of the closed hexagons shows the highest level of a contained tag (not necessarily all of the previous levels are included).

The stacking in the "title" tag is because that particular tag does not contain children tags and this that space in the upper level is free for other tags to occupy.
