Mastertemp heater not turning on, RS485 control.

To start with it was working for two months and now it just stopped. Communications does not show an error, but I haven't put a scope to the wires to see the signal strength.
I only see these packets in message manager about the heater. The set point value does change. What byte should be set when calling for the heater to turn on?

Any tips for troubleshooting this? Maybe python to send the packet multiple times to see if it is a signal integrity issue.

This isn't a comms issue. njsPC is sending a packet to the heater, and the heater is responding.

Byte 0 = 0 (OFF); 94 = pool setpoint; 100 = spa setpoint

You should check to see that the heat mode is set to heater, or the pool is on, etc. The following pic is just a basic heater, but you should be seeing the flame icon when the app is telling the heater to turn on.

Heat mode indicates my heater is selected, status is off. I do notice the pool icon will switch off immediately after I select it.
I will start with disabling home assistant to eliminate that changing things in the background.
This will help.

To note, I have it setup as shared body, single pump and heater.

Yup, we won't turn on the heater if the pool circuit is off. This is the place to investigate.

I disabled my HA integration. What I notice from the njspc dashboard is the Pool icon is green until a temps event is logged in the broswer debug console. Then it will change to gray. The event shows isOn: false. Temp reading is grayed out always.

In spa mode, temp reading is black and the heater operates normally for now. I believe the spa temp is pulled from the mastertemp heater, not the water temp sensor.

The last items added to my system were air and water sensors. The configuration might have some conflicts.

It was a sync automation in home assistant that caused all my grief. I was trying to stop people from starting the heater with no flow and I didn't need that. The heater will handle that issue. I just needed to hide the control when zero flow was detected.
