Request event listener running too early?

Hi,

I just wondered why the request event listener needs to run so early in the priority? I've had an issue with it loading before other high priority event listeners, which are required to process the message. Would you consider setting the priority to the default (0), or maybe allow this to be configured? Happy to submit a pull request if you think this is a good idea 🙂
