tab completing subsequent addresses does not work

Basically, I'd like to do the following:

1. m to compose a new mail
2. At the To: prompt, enter one name/email and tab to complete
3. Enter a comma to add another address/recipient
4. Start entering then hit tab to complete

Step 4 doesn't seem to actually work for me. I'm using notmuch-address, and have no addresses in my .notmuch-config.

You can watch the commands that bower is issuing using extrace, and see if notmuch address is returning anything.
