auth_token_file requirements are confusing

The export.tar provides export.yml and export.yml.j2.

In export.yml it states auth_token_file must be a filename.
In export.yml.j2 it states auth_token_file can be an absolute path, relative path, or filename.

Hopefully the latter is accurate, as it provides far more flexibility. Can someone confirm (and make both files consistent) ?
