Installed on 2 different computers and doesn't provide an option for copying paths for classes/methods on 1

I have VS code installed on my macbook air at home and an iMac at work.  The one at work allows me to right-click python classes and methods and copy its python path.  The one on my laptop only has an option to copy the python path of the "active file".  How do I get the class/method paths option to show up?
