Copying image to clipboard no longer works.

There was earlier a way to copy image files to clipboard and then paste them in discord. This no longer works.

I have some guesses. Earlier we used to copy the entire file content to the system clipboard when performing copy. But it was removed to prevent issues with Windows and to improve performance.

Notes

atotto/clipboard 's writeAll no longer pastes images to clipboard ( at least in new MacOS ). Didn't test for linux.
But there is a way to paste images in MacOS

osascript -e 'set the clipboard to POSIX file "/Users/nitin/Pictures/jin.jpg"'

For linux - either current atotto/clipboard's writeAll or

xclip -selection clipboard -t image/png -i < image.png

For windows, Not sure will existing atotto/clipboard's writeAll will work. Depends on how lenient is windwos. Might need to come up with some powershell scripts.

Other libraries like golang.design/x/clipboard need CGO Enabled, which is bad. Reduces cross-platform-ness.

Is there no system call available to handle this?

Perhaps we could look into whether there are other ways to handle this.

unless earlier meant last year when superfile was just getting started, that is not the case. #1140 is the PR where the GIF for the interesting copy file mechanism was added

But it is quite weird that the GIF was added after #564 was merged.
