After booting the car’s computer, the car will automatically connect to a WiFi hotspot with name ROS. The WPA password is elfmeter.

 Hotspot name: ROS
 Password: elfmeter

You can install the control Apps on your Android phone using the APK files you can find at the address below:

APK android_app

Currently Android 4.1 or higher is required for installing the apps. After connecting your cell phone to the ROS hotspot, you can connect to the car using the car control app. Fig. 6 shows how to set up the address of the car’s computer and the default ROS port in the APP:

Figure 6: The left and right picture show the car_control app before and after connecting to the car.

After connecting you can control the car manually. The speed of the car can be changed between -1000 to 1000 rpm using the slide bar to the right. The steering angle can be set between -50 to 50 degree using the bottom slide bar. Left and right blinking lights can be turned on/off using the left and right arrows at the top. Emergency stop forces the car to stop and turns on the brake lights.

Notice: You should disable emergency stop (the button turns gray) in order to be able to change the speed of the car using the speed slide bar.
