Description

In the CLIMAAX Heatwave Risk Assessment Workflow, satellite-based LST images as the exposure component are analysed. The workflow currently defines the Landsat 8 image downloading methodology and related codes. However, since daytime land surface temperatures often exceed 60°C and are distributed relatively homogeneously across the city center, it was not possible to effectively visualize temperature variations or the urban heat island effect. Therefore, as joint working group from Mersin and Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipalities, we searched for another data source providing night-time LST images. This is not 'yet' a complete workflow that can be run directly. As the initial step, we'd like to share our approach.

Additional data

Our proposal is to use Terra ASTER data from https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov

Hi @chpolste,
As we've discussed on the call, I've prepared a document only example to be published here but apparently your automated system expects some code to approve and merge. Ours is just a readme file explaining the process. I can add a dummy notebook here but is it really necessary?
How shall we go ahead?
Thanks

Hi @ihsantopalli,

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Thanks for the submission first of all! The checks are failing because you edited the top-level readme rather than create one in the folder. The checks require that all changes are happening in a subfolder only.

I wanted to provide you with the commands necessary to fix that on the branch, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hi @chpolste,
Thanks for the input. I've missed the folder thing sorry about that. I've reverted back to the original readme and submitted our files in a separate folder. Not sure whether the review is triggered automatically or not. I can create a new PR if necessary.

Thanks! I have to click a button before the checks run. Everything is fine now with the folder. The failing check is a misconfigured condition in the check and an error on our side. Don't worry about it.

I'll get back to this tomorrow to finish the review and merging.
