Lander

The Lander is used in the movie for surface operations - bringing down the Endurance logistics and base parts. The Lander has Two built in Rear Engines. A complete IVA and two Forward hatches for EVA.
In order to do vertical take off and landing, attach Four VTOL egines to the bottom of the legs.
Personally I then create two stage groups, the first group has the VTOL engines and the second group the built-in Engines. I then assign the four VTOL engines to a custom action group so I can toggle them on and off and the main engines to another custom action group. In this configuration staging activates the VTOL engines for surface take-off, and a second staging activates the rear engines. Toggling the assigned action group/s will then switch the VTOLs and main engines off and on as required.

There are Two connect nodes on the top and bottom of the ship to attach Endurance Docking ports. The standard configuration is to use the bottom port to attach the Lander to the Endurance ring and the top port is used to ferry base and logistics modules from the Endurance down to the surface and back again.
