Code for Optical Tweezers

This repository includes the analysis and plot codes for the the article Optical Tweezers: A comprehensive Tutorial from Calibration to Applications by Jan Gieseler , Juan Ruben Gomez-Solano, Alessandro Magazù, Isaac Pérez Castillo, Laura Pérez García, Martha Gironella-Torrent, Xavier Viader-Godoy, Felix Ritort, Giuseppe Pesce, Alejandro V. Arzola, Karen Volke-Sepulveda and Giovanni Volpe.

The number at the beggining of the folder name indicates the section corresponding to the material. Each section includes a guide to follow its content.

Section 3 Calibration contains the codes to obtain the stiffness and difussion coefficient from a time series with the position of a trapped particle.

Then in the following folders you will find the necessary codes for the different applications of optical tweezers. Correspondingly:

Section 4.1 Single-molecule mechanics

Section 4.2 Single-cell mechanics

Section 4.3 Microrheology

Section 4.4 Colloidal interactions

Section 4.5 Statistical physics.

Section 5 Optical tweezers in vacuum contains the code to analyze the data for trapping in vacuum. Trapping in vacuum implies a different physical setting, meaning we need to use the equations of the underdamped regime.
