Welcome to the Evolution wiki!
The idea behind Evolution is to create simulated digital creatures. These creatures have pseudo-assembler gene-code like programs which they execute. Whenever they multiply there is a certain chance that this gene-code will "mutate" and create slightly different creatures. Over time, as the population grows, all sorts of different behavioural patterns will emerge.
At the moment Evolution is nothing more than a collection of more or less unrelated ideas. At first I will create a very simple UI in which a single creature can be edited and tested. Next there will be another UI-part to create the world that the creatures live in. You will be able to specify things like size of the world, resource distribution, mutation rate etc. Once I reach the point that you can run several (possibly thousands) of creature in your world, I want to include a networking function in order to allow the creatures to spread across several worlds run by different people on the internet.
