Website contained excessive decorative elements, casual language, and lacked magazine feature. Redesigned with enterprise-focused design system using rigorous typography and professional content hierarchy.

Changes

Design System

  • Created styles/professional.css: Linux Foundation-inspired design with IBM Plex Sans/Mono typography, professional color palette (blues #0068b4/#003764, gray #4a4a4a, teal #00b2a9)
  • Removed: All emoji characters, parrot assistant, casual illustrations, unnecessary animations

Content Updates

  • index.html: Complete restructure with professional copy, stats-driven about section, prominent magazine feature with detailed content breakdown
  • join.html: Replaced casual language ("Join the upcoming legacy" → "Join the OpenRockets Foundation Community"), added professional styling
  • about.html: Integrated professional stylesheet, updated color scheme

Magazine Feature

Added dedicated section with:

  • Detailed content description (technical tutorials, community spotlights, project updates, industry trends, learning guides)
  • Direct link to https://openrocketsmag.com
  • Professional card layout matching site design

Typography & Spacing

  • Primary font: IBM Plex Sans (300-700 weights)
  • Monospace: IBM Plex Mono
  • Consistent spacing scale (0.5rem - 4rem)
  • Professional card-based layouts with clear hierarchy

Technical Notes

  • Maintained backward compatibility with existing navigation scripts
  • Responsive breakpoints at 968px and 640px
  • Mobile-friendly with touch-optimized navigation
  • Semantic HTML with proper ARIA labels
