Hi Magnus, Thanks for submitting the PR, upon review we noted you haven't used the mmrm package but instead use lmerTest? We had a look at lmerTest and found it was last published to cran in 2020 and has 15 issues open that have not been followed up on. We are concerned that lmerTest may not be the industry standard package for doing satherwaite df and perhaps instead it would be better to use the mmrm package. Would you be able to have a look at mmrm, and see if the same results are obtained. It would be good if your findings conclude that either package can be used but due to popularity perhaps mmrm is reccommended for pharma due to better ongoing maintenance of the package? Happy to discuss on a call if needed & Thank you so much for contributing.

Hi magnus, we are going to close this PR as MMRM should be used for this work instead of lmerTest and I think this fixes the degrees of freedom issues.
